Five Reasons Why You Should Trail Run in the Rain

1. The harder the rain, the less deer flies.
2. The weather is cooler.
3. Reduced chance of seeing other people.
4. Mud is fun.
5. Thunder is nature's drum, so dance.

Such was the case this afternoon. Found a new route into the woods out back that avoids the bridge on the fire road, which has been out for the past several months. Pace looks slow, but given all of the mud, water, hills and technicality of the route, it's actually a strong moderate paced effort.

Oddly enough, the legs felt very fresh and spry. Didn't expect that but I certainly welcome it.

Ran 5.4 miles @ 9:39/mile pace.
Trails.
Very hilly.
Lower-mid 60s, overcast, heavy to light rain.
New Balance MT110, shorts.

Totally agree on the trail running in the rain - especially in the summer. Nothing is more fun, plus you get to do primitive dancing in the privacy of your own forest.
