Shoulda pulled a Jeff Walker and jacked it up to 11-12% grade...
I think it only goes to 5%. I did the run at 2.5%, but jacking it up more is a great suggestion. I just hate running inside and staying in one place.
I hear you, treadmills do suck. I place two blocks under the back of ours to get a -12% grade. This is a great way to pound the quads for and hour or so.
A treadmill in Kansas is the only place you will find an incline to your liking! To me a treadmill and a road are about the same. Although it has been about 3 years since I've been on one, I don't mind them; the meditative mind-body connection happens without pretty scenery.I stopped running on them because I seemed to get respiratory illnesses breathing everyone else's air.
