Ran 5.0 miles @ 8:37/mile pace.
AHR = 150
Paved roads.
Slightly hilly.
Upper 40s, sunny, windy.
The doctor recommended running every other day, and I know it's very important to take it easy... but, throughout the day my knee felt not just fine, but there was no discomfort whatsoever, so I decided to run since I honestly felt I wasn't taking any big risks by doing so.
When I started running, I did feel it, but as more of a tightness, which I expected. It wasn't really an issue. I realize there'll be good days and not-so-good days though.
As for the run itself, I was with another runner who is working on getting his speed up, so the pace was good for me. Faster than yesterday, but still nothing crazy. My leg muscles definitely feel very tired from not being reconditioned yet. It's amazing how un-conditioned they've become. My legs feel like I've done back to back 15 milers. But, it's interesting to see my HR is still at the same level it was before the injury hiatus for that pace.
Tomorrow will be a rest day, or at the most a bike day (if not windy). But no running tomorrow, since I already violated the rule.
