Rode over to Frank's house today, a talented chef and runner that I became friends with a couple of years ago at the Vermont 100, who now lives just a few miles away. From his house, we hit some local trails in our town and had a blast. I hadn't seen Frank in a while, so it was great to catch up and chat throughout the ride.
The ride itself was great. We hit a variety of trails, all very hilly and a some sections a bit technical. I definitely took note of Frank blasting on the uphills. The guy is a beast. I had to resort to the 24-inch gear (you know, two feet.. walk on up) on a few sections that he was able to motor up, making it look pretty easy.
Mountain biked 16.9 miles @ 10.0 mph/avg (32.9 mph/max)
Trails, some dirt and paved roads.
Very hilly.
Upper 50s, partly sunny.
Shorts, short sleeved shirt.
