Nice and warm this morning. I got out just a bit after sunrise and it was in the mid-40s. Very nice indeed, and felt great to comfortably run in shorts again.Kept my eyes and ears open for red-winged blackbirds during the run today. No luck. These birds are among the first spring migrants and normally get here late February or early March. I'm sure they're about, I just haven't chanced upon them yet. Oh well, soon I'm sure...
Ran 3.8 miles @ 9:28/mile pace.
AHR/MHR - 116/125
Paved roads.
Mostly flat.
Mid 40s, overcast.
Brooks Mach 11, shorts, short sleeved shirt, long sleeved shirt (sleeves pushed up halfway through the run), cap.
116 bpm is close to some people's resting heart rate : )
ReplyDeleteAdonis DNA! I had several traumatic childhood encounters with red-winged blackbirds, protecting their turf as I walked by ... yet I still look forward to their arrival too.
ReplyDeleteThose red-winged blackbirds render one of our favorite running spots unrunnable once they are out for the season. They scare me! :)
ReplyDeleteFunny. My run yesterday was almost the same. 3.0 at 9:25. A little shorter, but basically the same speed and terrain.
ReplyDeleteOf course, my heart rate wasn't anywhere near 116.. probably closer to 216..

ReplyDeleteI was looking for red winged blackbirds on this morning's run but no such luck. Not to worry though, they will be here soon, I'm sure!
